Creative ways to use Cookies with hand lettering for your wedding – father of the groom wedding speech news

I have been thrilled to work with Carolyn Arnold, a talented and creative cookie and cake baker in Southlake, Texas.  The shop is called “Amazing Cakes and Cookies” and they truly are amazing in look and taste!   Just recently, I was able to help one of my clients, a mother of the groom, come up with an idea for a different and unique place card for her 60 guests at the rehearsal dinner.  Carolyn and I designed a sugar cookie in the shape of a three tiered wedding cake with a heart on top.  The cookie was covered in white fondant.  The surface is smooth like paper, allowing the “ink” ( food coloring) to go on easily.  These were placed in a cello bag and tied with a blue ribbon to match the decor. They added a great touch to the table and everyone happily indulged in tasting their delicious favors.  Check with a local baker and calligrapher to create them yourselves.
Here is a pics of the results!

You can also use a personalized cookie to creatively ask your girlfriends  “Will you be my bridesmaid?” If you don’t want to use a local bakery, try making them yourself.  You can order cookie cutters online in a variety of shapes and sizes.  And fondant ( the icing that’s like play dough) can be found at any craft store.  Once you’ve got your cookies made, find a box that they will easily fit into.  Cut foam ( from the fabric store) to fit both the top and bottom of the box.  Cover the foam with coordinated material.  You can put the cookie in a cello bag ( any craft store has them) or put in a plastic box with colored shredding for padding. Tuck a note in with the cookie and mail!  The cost to mail the cookie in this particular box was around 3.50 at the Post Office.  It’s fun, unique and delicious!

Cookies can also serve as a tasty  “Save-the-date” !  You can attach your picture to the lid of the box backed by a coordinating paper cut to size and glued in place.  Again, use fabric covered foam for padding and colored shredding to add pop! Just be sure to include a small card with the wedding info so your guests can dunk their cookie with delight.  If you like to bake, you can create the cookies yourself and either hire a calligrapher to letter the info on them or just decorate the cookies as you wish and the small cards with the info can be attached to the cello bag with ribbon.  I guarantee you’ll get rave reviews from your guests!
